Under the Mask

You have just entered the grand ball room. The ceiling stretches high above you and it is adorned with the most beautiful art work that you have ever seen. The walls are covered with the finest drapes and tapestries. Everyone is swaying to the sound of the band that is playing as the music fills the air. They are a sea of bright colored costumes gliding a cross the floor. Masks of all shapes and sizes adorn there faces. As you make your way through the room all of a sudden you are stopped by someone. They introduce them self, and the game begins.
You start to engage in the conversation, but you ask yourself who is this person? It becomes a game to discover who the person is under the mask.
In life we all wear a mask at some point. These masks come in all shapes and sizes, and are used at different times. Some of us will wear them for our whole life. Only to take them off when no one is around.
The mask is used to hide some part of us that we don’t want others to see. Maybe our flaws, weaknesses, or just our secrets. We can choose to hide all of our self or just a portion. The mask also becomes our protection and we choose when to use it. Some of use like to think of ourselves as transparent but the truth is that we are never 100% transparent to everyone all the time in all areas of our life. We are always covering some part of ourselves.
We are the only ones who really know what is beneath the mask and maybe just maybe someone else knows too.
So who is under the mask?
