When it rains the kids get restless being cooped up in side all day, or worse for several days. My little man is always looking for a reason to get out of the house rain or shine. I have had to find places to go so that my little boy can dispense all of his energy. Hear are five places that we like to go to and why. Starting with number five.
5. We like going to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Besides the awesome tanks with all kinds of fish you can also have a one on one encounter with Dolphin’s. You get to meet and touch the dolphin’s. You will also explore the rain forest and see birds, reptiles, amphibians and the new Australian Animals. They also have a new 4D Immersion Theater. Prices are $28.95 for Adults (Ages 12-59) and Children are $17.95 (Ages 3-11) Seniors are $27.95 (Ages 60 +)
4. The Maryland Science Center is another great place to go on a rainy day. We weren’t sure at first if it would be age appropriate. After we got there we found out that it was dollar day so it only cost us $3 to get in. Then we started with the dinosaur exhibit. There are many hands on activities in the dinosaur exhibit and though out the Science Center. Best of all was the Kids Room. Kids won’t run out of things to do in hear. They have every thing from sending boats down a river channel in water play, dress-up, operate a fish cam in the submarine, and much more. You could go to the Science Center just for that room and spend hours in it.
3. Our little man is always asking when we will go to Jump Zone again. Jump Zone is a great place for kids and parents. I love this place! They have a play time that they call open play that is when we go. They are big on hosting parties, and they have what they call kids night out. It cost $7 for each child and the adult is free during the open play. Make sure that you take socks. This is an inflatable play land! They have a CARS dual lane slide, you can walk thru the dinosaur teeth and scale the volcano slide in there Jurassic Adventure, SpongeBob Square Pants 3D Clubhouse, massive play zone with gravity simulator,4 slides, obstacles, tunnel and log walk. For children three and under the Baby Dino Lake offers safe active play! Classic Bouncer with all your favorite Disney characters. Not to mention the Pirate Ship Tree House. Parents are allowed to go on all the equipment too, or you can watch your kids form one of the many benches that are there. They also have the JZ cafe & TV lounge where you can view the kids playing on monitors.
2. You could also go to the mall. Yes, some of the malls have play areas in them. Like Towson Town Center, Columbia Mall, and Marly Station. Best of all it is Free.
1. For those times that it’s raining and I just don’t want to go out. I stay home and pull out our Discovery Toys. They are great toys that teach kids through play. We have so much fun whether we are looking at one of the books, playing a board game, or putting together Marbleworks.
